I purchased several pairs in January, by May all but one had a hole in the toe area. Yes, I keep my nails trimmed! The rest of the sock was fine and I like the fit, but for $9, they should last longer. More reinforcement needed.

I like the Portland socks because I need a little bit of support and they're snug enough without feeling too tight. I could do without the gold toe because I would like to wear open toe shoes sometimes, but oh well. (I also wish the toe area were more reinforced. They seem to get holes in them quicker than they used to (would be 5 stars otherwise). But I like them so well I just sew up the holes.)
I've worn these for years and even though I occasionally try different brands to save a little money, these are always the ones I reach for first in my sock drawer.

I agree with the other ladies........I miss the heavier wool sock. I am shoe size 11AAAA & the nylon socks are waaaaay too thin! My feet slide around in my shoes. PLEASE bring back the wool socks in extended sizes. Thank You

Don't you have knee high wool gold toes?

Do you still carry fluffies for women. Heavier knit sock. Not all women dress for office (trouser socks) Need something heavier for winters/fall
